In Memoriam – Frank Pinney

1 May by Greg Schroeders

Today, we faced the unfortunate and deeply saddening moment of saying goodbye to one of our club’s greatest supporters.

While I’ve had the pleasure of meeting many past members and life members throughout my journey at the club, Frank Pinney was undoubtedly one of the greats. Right to the very end, Frank remained a passionate supporter of our club and its people.

Frank Pinney was a dedicated and influential figure at the Parade St Damians Junior Football Club. In recognition of his significant contributions, he was awarded Life Membership in 1991 — a fitting tribute to his exceptional service and unwavering commitment to the club’s growth and community spirit.

His legacy lives on through the Frazer Pinney Award, an esteemed honour presented to individuals who demonstrate outstanding contribution and embody the core values of our club. This award is a reflection of the lasting impact the Pinney family has had on our community.

I will forever treasure the memories of Frank’s warm smile and his kind, encouraging words during my time as President of our great club. Thank you, Frank — one last time. You may be gone, but you will never be forgotten.
