Our second Garvey nights has Richmond’s Sam Lloyd. A regular substitute when selected in 2015, the small forward couldn’t establish a permanent role in the line-up in his 12 games. The former VFL forward kicked multiple goals on three occasions in 2015, fast forward now to round 8 of 2016 and Sam has already booted 15 goals and played all 8 games..Lloyd joined the club as a mature-age forward from the VFL, having kicked 38 goals in 17 games in his debut season with Frankston in 2013.He represented a combined VFL team against the WAFL and kicked four goals in one of his best performances for the season.Strong at ground level and in the air for his size, he is creative and reads the play well. Sam will be presenting the end of month player awards and will talk a little bit about himself, a Q&A with our players and available for any photo or autographs.

For all those new to the club, Family Garvey nights are a club social night that is held once a month (Sunday night) at the Frank Mount Rooms located at Garvey Oval, Parade College, Plenty Road Bundoora. On these nights all players and their families are invited to come along and listen to all coaches give a monthly wrap on how their teams have been going for the month as well as hand out an encouragement award known as the player of the month for each respective team. It is also the place that players will receive milestone certificates (50, 100 or 150 games certificates). The night also includes, raffles and a $100.00 family draw give away (1 per Garvey Night).
