Our fourth Garvey nights has St Kilda’s Jade Gresham who was selected with St Kilda’s first pick in the 2015, at pick 18, following a stunning season by the midfielder.
The Northern Knights captain was dominant in the TAC Cup last year, winning his sides best and fairest, the TAC Cup’s Coaches Award as well as finishing runner up in the Morrish Medal.
The ball magnet averaged just under 30 possessions, 12 contested possessions, five tackles and five clearances per game across 13 appearances for the Knights.
The 18-year-old also produced a standout national carnival, earning All-Australian honours, as well as winning Vic Metro’s Most Valuable Player prize.
At 178cm tall, Gresham’s height has been queried in the past, but his ability to win the ball in close and zip away from stoppages saw him emerge as one of the premier midfielders in his draft class. Jade will be presenting the end of month player awards and will talk a little bit about himself, a Q&A with our players and available for any photo or autographs.
For all those new to the club, Family Garvey nights are a club social night that is held once a month (Sunday night) at the Frank Mount Rooms located at Garvey Oval, Parade College, Plenty Road Bundoora. On these nights all players and their families are invited to come along and listen to all coaches give a monthly wrap on how their teams have been going for the month as well as hand out an encouragement award known as the player of the month for each respective team. It is also the place that players will receive milestone certificates (50, 100 or 150 games certificates). The night also includes, raffles and a $100.00 family draw give away (1 per Garvey Night).
